Quit?

I decided not to renew in March and my account just expired a week or so ago. I see no point in paying 30 bucks to barely play for another 3 months. PoP is old. GoD is ridiculously stupid. If all there is to look forward to is Omens of War, /bye.

I still play. I see them working to resolve bugs. I see more communication from the devs about what we as players want from the game via the SOE boards. I saw a quick response to the OoW boycott in the form of pushing back the release date and the meeting this weekend. All are good signs to me that they recognize they have competition from WoW, CoH and others and that they need to do better. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm going to stick around and see how it goes.

I'm out, have been since february.

A lot of the people who are gone don't post here much anymore, so I dunno how accurate your poll is going to be.

Haass has a good point. A lot of the old school posters have quit and many of them dont post here much anymore.

I think its funny that you have 10 of us who quit as is. The only reason I am the boards is that I really want my voice heard at the guild summit in the naive hope that it will give me back the game I want to play.

I'm as much curious about how many people quit and still post as the number of people that still play. This is a pretty solid community, and I don't plan on leaving for quite a while. If they improve the game enough, I'll play again. If they don't, I won't. I'm not angry with SOE, I just got bored of EQ. I just want to log in and have fun if I log in ever again. Because I'm not currently guaranteed fun, I'm just not interested in logging in.

Boy this poll has to terrify SOE execs... more than 50% of the poll has quit or playing much less.

The playing much less doesn't terrify them at all. You're not paying per minute, you're paying per month. If you never logged in again but kept paying, they would be dancing (from a business standpoint, not trying to make a commentary on their personal ideas). One less person to stress the server and demand content while still sending in the same payment as the 8+ hour per day raider. Casual players are their bread and butter.

Yes but people who post on boards are probably amoung the most active players...and I think we commit or not. We wont really do just a little EQ. Besdies at this point the incremental costs of an acount have to trivial. The servers have to be on no matter what, and I would suspect that their internet is on some sort of flat fee considering they have to be on of the single biggest consumers of bandwidth.
