where to solo/molo nowdays

So been out of town for work since xpac release really, got most of the progression done in first week or 2 after release and need to finish out some AAs now. Ive got hundreds of hours logged in the usualls like katta, beza, mech gaurdian hopeing someone has a new hotspot to suggest that is better xp and be a change of scenery.

Take a look at the new hotzones for 85. Kaesora Library and Tosk. I was in Tosk last night on my monk but the exp wasnt stellar just doing boars. I branched off to do the KOS mobs in the center area and I just couldn't kill them fast enough to make it worth it. He was getting around 6% aa per kill if I remember right, non lesson.

Vald still blows it out of the water but the only place is Royals camp where they are all light blue and there aren't a lot of mobs there sadly.

I'm not great at the whole soloing with a merc deal- When I do it, my goal is usually to kill time until people log on, not maximum AA Gain. However, I like to use House Lower, Library (The House of Thule one), or The Grounds. Grab some of the quests to get some extra exp.

Cleared Mech Guardian from bottom all the way to the top in 2 hours, 10% xp at L90 or about 6-8 AAs.

I guess it depends on gear.

While waiting for others, I can molo the kobolds and veterans in SS, which passes the time. Though I need to stop on occasion for the merc to regain some mana. They seemed to have nerfed their mana regen with the HoT expansion.

I've spent some time in tosk since its become a hotzone; its not impressive at all. I've been boxing my war with a 86 shaman alt (who I'm slowly taking to 90) and the warrior is averaging 6aa per lesson. Since the alt is only 86 though I expect my aa gains to drop as he levels. I've been killing ogres; adps over 30mins in the 5900-6300 range; really expected the xp to be much better since it was so good here on my necro during SoD.

Sadly, the glory days of molo'ing are largely a thing of the past. Can it still be done? Sure. But the returns are weaksauce given the level increase. However, if you have an alt shaman or especially an alt bard on a 2nd account, then the world is your oyster. Simply 2-box the progression missions or really anything in HoT if people aren't on. It really is a two account game for the most part at the moment. There is just infinitely more you can do if not restricted to just one toon and one merc, especially in HoT.

Now, for straight AA grind, grouping in T4 is probably as good as it gets. But if you have that 2nd toon, you have the core of any group.. just pick an open camp and you can largely just grab random dps from guild or LFG to fill it out.

Shaman - Advantages are buffs, the best slows, and the ability to heal.

Bards - Advantages are much better DPS (can be pulling 9-10K DPS) for yourself and any others along with the ability to pull, mezz, and slow mobs.

Up to you.. its just moloing is a fairly lonely path atm in the current game.
