The Double XP Grind

For some time I've only focused on XP for 30 min a day doing Murdunk's last stand.

With the double XP weekend Jy and I decided to put off GoD progression (Dont ask) to focus on recapping levels and filling in AA's on some of our deficient characters.

Murdunk's last stand doesn't cut it with the 6 hour timer and we started getting into it on the best place to grind.
Jy is thinking Rathe Council Chambers as the best place because its empty, the mobs are high con, and its relatively safe.

I'm thinking Gyrospire and just mowing over 1000's upon 1000's of Dark blue clock works with my mage using annihilates.

Truth be told?
We are probably both way off on XP efficiency because we haven't ground XP since 85 level raise.

Where would we make the best use of our time?

Grinding

The standard answer is Beza, Zeka and the Mech Guardian.

Instances available of B and Z for your grinding pleasure.

Have fun.

Solo exp in Valde is the way to go, 20 aa lesson during double exp weekend. Slaughter pit, then move to giants, then do pit again.

Furious plus intensity is your friend

Edit* I use crystallos ugly lance twohander and have all dps aa, 12% overhaste, fero 7, cleave 7 for dps.

Stedfast servant usually enough to keep me up, ocasional healing potion is nice, jester if desperate.

Can pop merc for a heal if low hp too to save time from regening it.

I prefer instances for xp, I can get just under 5 AAs in a 30min Lesson in Mech Guardian, boxing with 1 merc up the whole time. I get better in Murdunks but alas its a group dependant task :/

It would be hard to say what would be the best xp for your perticular group as yall have a full group of boxes you have to move, personally what I would probably do if I had a full group at my instant disposal is chain murdunks, as long as you dont get the 35th mob you can drop and reget, usually takes about 30ish min to hit the 35 mob mark if i remember, drop task refresh clickies and such zone back in its been all of a 2-3min downtime and mobs are auto pulling again lol.

With good DPS a group can run in circles around the crystalline section of Korascian Warrens killing everything that moves.

With good DPS and a very good puller, the same group can mow down any camp in OBF/CoD and watch the AAs fly by.

Aye, I was going to say OBF or COD .... we did the 4-way a few times this weekend with a chanter + cleric + warrior + 3 random DPS (2 rogues and zerk one night, 2 rogues and a 2nd warrior another night), and we were just plowing. Every 4-5 kills was an AA, and mobs barely lived long enough for my box druid to get one spell on them for the faction hit.

I found an awesome place for xp. If you got a puller the 'Holding the Fort' instance is insane xp for a few reasons:

1. This instance is PACKED with mobs and it resets them half way through the mission (we killed everything in both goes going well beyond the mission requirements)

2. The mobs are variants of those found in OBF so they are white-yellow to 85 BUT the Ikaavs don't haste making it relatively easy....

AND

3. The big reason is if you keep a dragorn or two alive after the initial rush then all you need to do is DPS the mob to 49% and then pull it to a dragorn(s). We parsed their dps to be about 3k+ each, higher on the general. Needless to say the mobs die super quick, you get group xp and mission credit for kill.

Only having to DPS half the mobs life for the same xp you'd get in an OBF grind is totally efficient and I grinded out over 40aa's (nearly all my fundamental/spires) in one 1.5 hour mission thanks to LOD and pots. No competition for mobs either and you sometimes get Chaxyl to pop for her nice shoulders and 2hs plus essences.

The only downside I see is you cannot exit the mission and return once started.. or have anyone join the mission later on either for that matter. Put a six pack on ice, strap on the adult diapers and tuck into some sweet sweet xp.

Someone on Cazic Thule was bragging about doing 600 AAs over the weekend doing The Hive missions. That seems a bit excesive to me? IS/was it really possible to do this? I dont know their grp makeup or anything , but id guess was nearly solo as the person was looking for help to get the instances every so often.

yeah its possible, leave 1 toon at Mazil and have your ranger and other toon go in and out of the instance, takes me 5 to 7 minutes per instance depending on how "lucky" i get with head shots.

on the last pull hit your social to remove everyone from the task

/taskremove XXXX
/taskremove XXXX
/taskquit

and hit your other one

/tar mazil
/say willing

click the button and go - usually try to time it so you can zone out b4 you get kicked from the instance but so you can zone directly back in

Also it appears that if you are shrouded to lvl 70 the AA exp you recieve is somewhere on the curve of the low aa bonus exp, run and instance with shroud and without and count your AA gained

My ranger have only been able to get 20 AA on a lesson burn (non-double exp weekend) doing Lost Gnomes headshotting. A good friend has claimed getting 26 AA on a single lesson burn. Assuming someone is nuts enough to stay in that mission for the entire weekend, and using my 20 AA per burn basis...

40 AA per lesson burn x 4 days = 160 AA
20 AA per 30 mins = 40 AA per hour w/o lesson on double exp weekend

600 - 160 = 440 AA
440 / 40 per hour = 11 hours

So on a double exp weekend and spending a total of 13 hours (11 grinding and 2 on lesson) in Lost Gnomes, I could have gotten 600 AA. Too bad I missed the weekend.

Edit: My rogue and her merc sit at the mission giver. On lesson burns, the key is to cycle through the missions quickly and not mess with the far rooms and stragglers. Once the non-lesson sessions, I'll send the time to grab the extras.

I got close to 600 aa during the double xp weekend on my lvl 72 mage.

Went to Vald Giants with mage solo and monk + merc out of group. Killed the giants with dps from the monk and mage, tanked with monk and FD'D at around 9% health. Nuked the giant dead the rest of the way, getting about .85 aa per kill on the mage and 1.5 aa per kill with LotD.

Was good fun. Hehe
