Imaim’s Guide for the 50-65 Warrior
Version 1.6 below with charm items, augs and a 'utility weapons' section added. Thanks for the assistance and comments to date. There are still some sub-65 non-visibles and weapons missing. Please add your comments and feedback and I'll try to incorporate them into the writeup.
Inspired by a lot of recent questions, posts, and my own planning for progress through these levels, here is my guide for equipping a warrior from 50-65, including sections on Armor, Shields, Weapons, Augmentations, Combat Abilities, AA and Misc Utility. There is a lot of information out there for the 70+ game, but not as much that is easy to find on what to do or get at the lower levels. My hope is that by combining this guide with the other TSW library resources, people will be able to get through this developmental stage in their character progression and prepare themselves for the higher level game. This information has been gathered from a number of sources, including Allakhazam, EQItems, EQUtilities, Evilgamer, Lucy, and TSW. Thanks in advance to Yoda, Ouruk, Swansong, Grayhelm, Brabble, drenath, Mendler, and the many others whose posts in my threads and others have helped to inspire me to write all this up. Armor Important Worn Foci: 1) Haste 2) Ferocity 3) Improved Dodge 4) Improved Block / Parry 5) Cleave Important Mod2s 1) Avoidance 2) Shielding 3) Spell Shielding 4) DoT Shielding 5) Combat Effects 6) Strikethrough 7) Accuracy Options for visible armor: Grayhelm maintains a site that lists the major warrior armor sets. You can use it to compare the benefits of one sets vs the other. Here is a general listing by level: Level 50+ Magnetic Armor – player made from OoW zone drops, attuneable. Intricate Defiant – gamewide random, attuneable, Fero, Cleave mods. Level 55+ Polished Energeiac Plate – player made, attuneable. PoP Ornate Armor (Kizrak’s) – player made, no trade. Uses ornate molds from lower tier PoP named. Level 59+ Elaborate Defiant – gamewide random, attuneable. Fero3, Cleave2 and nice hp/ac/mod2s for the level. Level 65 PoP Elemental: Raex’s - player made, no trade. Uses elemental molds from PoP Elemental planes and the Plane of Time. Good AC, but most mods are atk or regen. Qvic Armor: Vadd’s – player made from Muramite Armor drops off of Qvic named (Mshas, Zoo, etc.) Tons of AC, shielding, spell shielding and a 15% aggro mod. TBS Armor: Buccaneer’s Energeiac – purchased with Doubloons from faction vendors in The Buried Sea. Decent HP/AC and some mod2s. Kizrak's Chestplate of Battle - PoP ornate BP. 63 AC and the clicky gives you AC, HP and magic resistance and is better for you than the Focus line (imo) until at least Wunshi. Even if you don't wear this BP, you'll still use the clicky, especially when there isn't a shammy around. Kizrak's Gauntlets of Battle - PoP ornate gloves. Clicky 30% haste with a one hour duration. Not as good as haste potions or a shammy/chanter, but nice for when you want 'set it and forget it' haste, or when you are left without the right group mix or potions. Non-visible slots Level 50+ Waist The waist slot is a popular place for haste mods. Here are two that you can get as you level up: Spiked Seahorse Hide Belt (34% haste) – Siren's Grotto - Fellspine Waistwrap of Grieg’s Faithful (31% haste) – Grieg's End- Officer of Madness Enchanted Sash of Wonder (31% haste) - Temple of Droga - Bone Knight Runri Soulscream Belt (31% haste) - Veksar - a rotting shopkeeper Face I really like the Polished Mask of the Silverwing, that is from the Lost Heirlooms quest created by combining the Polished Shard from Droga with the Silverwing Faceguard from The Deep. Ear/Finger/Neck I think the jewelcrafted items work well for ears and fingers until you get to level 65. To make these, augment items like Palladium Trio Ring with the following items, in this order: 1) Marquis Cut Taaffeite / Harmongate 2) Round Cut Opal 3) Round Cut Peridot Note: Dwerium beats Palladium for stats starting at lvl 66, however, as a warrior you should probably be wearing DSH/LP non-visibles starting at 65 augged with AC augs. I prefer augged Elaborate Defiant wrists over Palladium too, due to the ac and mod2s. Back: Before the Intricate/Elaborate Defiant armor came out, Cleave and Ferocity were relatively difficult to obtain on lower level gear outside of raid zones. I wore the Expert Crafted Cloak of the Attackers from the James the Watchmaker quest line in PoK (all drops for this item come from Acrylia Caverns) from 55 to 62, when the Elaborate Defiant armor came out. At that point, I switched to the higher AC Blackened Ukun Hide Cloak, which took me to level 65. Shoulders: I need to do some more research on good shoulders below 65. I wore the Yttrium Studded Mantle from Lord Inquisitor Seru, but those are not obtainable before level 65 without high level help. Charm: Eventually, every toon needs to upgrade the old Kobold Skull Charm. The best option by far is the Serpent Seeker's Charm of Lore, which involves looting ground spawns and killing some mobs in various zones across The Serpent's Spine expansion. Stats just from the ground spawns (no kills): 12ac 153h/m/e 4avo Stats from all non-raid drops: 23ac 292h/m/e 1shd 8avo Another option pre-65 would be the Talisman of Living Rock (21 ac 50h/m/e), which is a zonewide random drop in Akheva Ruins. Level 65 Dragonscale Hills and Loping Plains named mobs offer some fantastic non-visible gear starting at level 65. These items are all required level 65, recommended level 75, which is the same as the SoF augs, so aug these items with those augmentations to avoid gimping your gear and/or augs with lower recommended levels. Face Valorous Visage of Vigor (best) / Blackguard Mask – Dragonscale Hills - Mad MX Mask of the Deathbringer / Furious Visage - Dragonscale Hills - Gillipuzz Ear Firelight Earring / Steamfury Stud - Dragonscale Hills - Click-o-nik Faende's Diamond Earstud / Faende’s Earstud – Loping Plains – Debilitated Skeleton Finger Inscribed Signet of Wegar / Signet of Wegar – Loping Plains – Bloodmoon Bloodmender Gilded Signet of Valarine / Inscribed Signet of Valarine – Loping Plains – Minotaur Pit Boss Waist An Orcish Slaver’s Harness (best) / Orcish Slaver’s Harness - Loping Plains - Nightwalker Assassin Barded Gird of Wirlem / Girdle of Wirlem - Loping Plains - Bloodmoon Warlock Neck Pendent of the Stoic (best) / Felmight Gorget - Dragonscale Hills - Strawshanks Gorget of Ferocity / Adornment of Frenzy - Dragonscale Hills - Dungore Shoulders Blood Soaked Pauldrons (best) / Stonewall Pauldrons - Dragonscale Hills - King Mustef Pauldrons of the Ageless Rage / Epaulettes of Eternity - Dragonscale Hills - Leafrot/Delilah Windrider Range Badge of the Resolute Defender (best) / Felmight Fetish - Dragonscale Hills - Bloodbeak Gifilnos’ Miraculous Hunting Bag / Gifilnos’ Prized Hunting Bag - Loping Plains - Drangol Foreman Steamwork Compound Bow - Dragonscale Hills - Diddle D / Witchkin Back Obsidian Drape of Battle / Silverthread Cloak - Dragonscale Hills - Elder Krunggar Whiptail Fortunisa's Arcane Nightcloak / Fortunisa's Nightcloak - Loping Plains - Drangol Overseer While the above items are pretty good, in my opinion it is hard to beat the Cloak of the Spirit Hunter from the Mark of Spirits quest in Arcstone at 65 with it's 10 avoidance. Many people have done this quest, and you can usually talk a couple of guildmates or higher-level friends into helping out. Charm Same as above. There's no beating the Serpent Seeker's Charm of Lore... although should you get lazy the following items are available from Loping Plains: Greater Talisman of Werewolf Brain (best) / Talisman of Werewolf Brain - Loping Plains - Decrepit Skeleton Orrel's Nightmarish Bauble / Orrel's Blood Bauble - Loping Plains - Bloodmoon Swiftblade Shields You want to get a shield with the highest AC possible for when you are tanking something hard and need to switch to sword and board. Some options: Thurgadin: Runed Kromrif Buckler (60ac 80hme) - Dain 1 MM between levels 50-61. Plane of Fire: Basalt Bulwark (55ac 100hme 8% riposte mod) - Sorcerer of Fire and various named Bastion of Thunder: Stormrider's Carapace (54ac 100he, FB4) - Auliffe Chaoswind (tower) At 65+ you can use Gilded Targe of Kulthar or Targe of Kulthar from Vampric Deathknight in Loping Plains. Weapons This time period is probably the weakest for warriors in terms of aggro generation compared to other classes, unless you have one of a handful of weapons. It’s not until level 65 that a lot of good aggro weapon options start to open up. In order to help you maintain aggro, your weapons should have an innate aggro proc. Procs that generate significant aggro are direct hate procs (e.g. Anger) stun procs (e.g. Static Strike), and rune procs (e.g. Rune I). Direct damage procs like Freezing Strike II or Lifesap I generate hate at a 1/1 ratio of damage to hate, so should not be used on main tanking weapons. Here are some common procs on weapons around this level and their corresponding hate values: Direct Hate Procs Anger II: 400 Taunting Blow: 450 Anger III: 600 Enraging Blow: 700 Anger: 1150 (400 stun + 100dd + 650 direct hate) Stun Procs Ethereal Strike: 275 (400 stun + 75 direct damage – 200 direct hate) Strike of Opportunity V: 470 (400 stun + 70 damage) Static Strike: 579 (400 stun + 179 direct damage) Sanity Warp: 587 (400 stun + 87 direct damage) Rune Procs Runic: 235 (100 x 2 rune + 80/3 heal) Rune II: 236 (118 x 2 rune) Run III: 460 (230 x 2 rune) The standard proc rate is 2.0 ppm (procs per minute) in your mainhand (this includes two-handed weapons) and 1.0 ppm offhanded. Each level of the weapon affinity AA increases the base proc rate of innate weapon procs by 10%. Combat Effects also increase weapon proc rates. With WA5 and 0 combat effects, you should expect an average of 3.0 ppm mainhand and 2.0 ppm offhand for innate weapon procs. Augmentations have their own proc rates (same as base innate weapon procs) that are also affected by weapon affinity and combat effects. Since weapon procs fire first and only one proc can fire in a given round, you will see slightly fewer aug procs than weapon procs. See this thread on the SK boards for proc rate calculations. In order to achieve the highest possible proc rate, you will need to have your dexterity maxed. If you don’t have this, make sure to get some buffs from your local shaman. A handful of weapons have innate proc rate modifications (positive or negative), which makes them better or worse for generating aggro. Bloodfrenzy, for instance, has a +70% proc rate modification. Good weapons before 65: Aggro – dual-wield Bloodfrenzy - SSRA - Vyzh`dra the Cursed Hategiver - SSRA - Xerkizh The Creator Blasphemous Blade of the Exiled - SSRA - Vyzh`dra the Exiled Blade of Carnage - Kael Drakkel - The Avatar of War Great Blade of Storms - Bastion of Thunder - Einride Icestorm (Tower) Cord-hilted Spike Driver - Plane of Innovation - Xanamech Nezmirthafen Molten Mithril Longsword - Lavaspinner's Lair - Smoketail / Boilingwind Copper Hammer of Striking - Temple of Droga - King Dronan Sword of the Bloodsworn - Temple of Droga - Earth Seer Gamolk Aggro – two-handed Bloodied Berserker’s Blade - Sanctus Seru - Lord Inquisitor Seru Greatstaff of Thunder - Bastion of Thunder - Various named The famous “Droga Twins” should be available fairly cheap to the up and coming warrior, or can be farmed from Droga during your 50s. Most of the other weapons above will require at least some higher level assistance. The Sword of the Bloodsworn is pretty easily obtained. I got my Copper Hammer of Striking after the zone was revamped once, but haven’t seen King Dronan since. Weapons at 65: Aggro – dual-wield Blade of the Night Sky -> Blade of the Eclipse - Stoneroot Falls - Zoriles the Champion Legion Issue Kukri - Yxtta - Primal Reptile Champion's Sword of Eternal Power (Epic 1.5) Aggro – two-handed Bloodied Berserker’s Blade (Rune III proc) - Lord Inquisitor Seru – Sanctus Seru Blade of War (Enraging Blow proc) – Rallos Zek the Warlord – Plane of Tactics Stone Etched War Sword (Rune III proc) – A Monsterous Mudwalker - Plane of Earth A Forgotten Greatstaff (Rune III proc) – Iqthinxa Karnkvi (Zoo) – Qvic Staff of Shattered Dreams (Rune III proc) - Ikaav Nysf Lleiv - Txevu DPS – dual-wield Blade of the Night Sky -> Blade of the Eclipse - Stoneroot Falls - Zoriles the Champion Lelluran’s Scarred Longsword - Loping Plains - Bloodmoon Battlemaster Lelluran’s Mace - Loping Plains - Shadowmane Totemcaller Fearpoint - Dragonscale Hills - Chief Thundragon / Overseer Sickletooth Bejeweled Parrypoint (secondary only) - Dragonscale Hills - Fiddle D / Diddle D DPS – two-handed Dreadfall Pike - Dragonscale Hills - Leafrot / Tangler Timbleton Eldanddor’s Avenger - Loping Plains - Shadowmane Beastman Orrel’s War-staff - Loping Plains - Shadowmane Champion Utility Weapons: A Weighted Axe (for furious disc) - Burning Woods - a forest giant ancient (drops at the fort) Fabled Tantor's Tusk (for furious disc) - Western Wastes - Fabled Tantor Wavecrasher (20% slow proc) - Sirens' Grotto - Doesn't drop anymore but is tradable Willsapper (30% slow proc) - Dragon Necropolis - Vaniki Truncheon of Doom (50% slow proc) - Old Sebilis - froglok armsman Kunzar Ku’juch (snare proc) - City of Mist - wraithbone champion Weapon augmentations: Level 50+ Get all of the available Wulfenite augs, and make sure to put the Wulfenite Gem (slot 4, req 50)and Wulfenite Segment (slot 4, req 40) into your main tanking weapons. These augs have a stun component to them, so generate decent hate. The stuns on these augmentations won't stick over lvl 55 and 50, respectively, but you'll still generate the full stun hate. You can buy these (and a number of other augments for your weapon array) in your home town or Crescent Reach. Use the 'Find' function and search for the "Melee Augmentations" vendor. A slightly better (but harder to obtain) option than the Wulfenite augs is the Blackened Lava Rock, which is a zonewide random drop in Skyfire. The Strike of Ykesha stun proc works up to 55. Level 60+ Sverag: Jade of the Ether (Rune III proc, req 60) – from Soulfury Embermeer. The only Rune III proc aug in the game. Sverag: Heart of Ice (125dd proc, req 60) – from The Subjugant. Decent DPS aug. Lavastorm: Vampric Lichen Stone (Ethereal Strike proc, req 60) - 180 crystals - put on a DPS weapon. 1 second stuns to 65 w/o generating significant aggro. See notes on Sverag following the Augmentations section below. Level 65 Jagged Dragon Scale (Planar Strike proc, slot 4) - DoN merchants - 180 crystals. Get two of these (one from each camp) and replace your wulfenite augs with them. Augmentations Augs, augs and more augs. If you read TSW, you’ll see that the most common response to “Gear Check” threads is “Upgrade your augs”. There are a lot of resources for level 70+, but not too many that I could find for warriors under level 70. Below are three lists of augmentations. Those for people under level 60, at level 60 and at level 65. Augments below level 60: The majority of these are zonewide random augmentations that were added when these various zones were hotzones: - Sunderock Springs (quest reward): Crusader's Luckstone (15ac 20hme, slot 7, req 53 rec 60) - Cazic-Thule: Stone of Greatness (10ac 45hp, req 55 rec 60) - Acrylia Caverns: Heart of the Sky (10ac 40+1hp, req 55) - Crypt of Nadox: Corrupted Peridot Amulet (10ac 30hp, req 55) - Gorukar Mesa (quest reward): Crystalwing Goru`kar Scout Shielding Stone (10ac 10hme, slot 7, req 43 rec 50, shield usable) - Old Sebilis: Stone of Might (8ac 30hp, req 45 rec 50) - Tower of Frozen Shadow: Frozen Crystalline Eye (7ac 20hp, req 35) - Dawnshroud Peaks: Glinting Sunstone (5ac 5sta 15hp, req 40) - LGuk: Greater Stone of Power (5ac 10hp, req 30 rec 35) - Blightfire Moors: Corrupted Opal Amulet (5ac 5hp req 30) - Crypt of Dalnir: Polished Green Softstone (5ac 5end, req 25) - Kurn's Tower: Minor Stone of Power (2ac 5hp, req 15 rec 20) Specific notes: I found Cazic-Thule to be quite the pain when duoing with my low 60s shammy, even when I trioed with another similarly geared warrior. We simply didn't have the DPS at level 62 to handle pulls when there were 2 or 3 healer mobs in camp (and there often are). With a full group at this level it should be fine. Augs that open up at level 60 (you'll need help for some of these): - Nobles Causeway: Cracked Gem of Lucidity (10ac 50hp, req 60) – zonewide random - Ruined City of Dranik: Forsaken Stone of Ire (10ac, rec 60) – drops off Granitesmash - Skylance: The Laboratory Pendant of the Overspirit (10ac 35hme 5sv) - Tallongast the Discarded - Relic: Emerald Shard of Relic (50h/m/e 5avo 1shld, req 60) – Drops from a lost spirit - Relic: Amethyst Shard of Relic (65h/m/e 15avo, req 60) – zonewide random - Sverag: Steelward Stone (20ac 45h/m/e, req 60) – from an imprisioned general. The best AC aug available pre-65. - Thurgadin: Diamond-Studded Coldain Historical Seal (14ac, 70h/m/e, 7 regen 14 avo, rec 65) – The end result of the Dain monster mission augments and arguably the best melee augmentation at level 65. Specific notes: Relic is tough at level 60 if you aren’t well geared and/or without a full group. You want to camp ‘a lost spirit’, which is a wisp that wanders around the first level of the zone. Any wisps you see are PHs for the named. The best place to set up for this is by Sharlash the Ninthborn. This area is safe from roamers, and allows you to pull wandering mobs (including the ph/named) single to your group. Sverag is mainly about positioning and only pulling the mobs you want... which are 'a savage fury' (PH), Soulfury Embermeer, an imprisioned hero, an imprisoned general, an imprisioned enemy (PH), and The Subjugant. All are slowable, and don't agro the main zone mobs when pulled, to my knowledge. If you have lev, you can actually camp all of these mobs at the same time from the top of the wall. Check out the various Jade of the Ether guides here and on Evilgamer.net Do the Brraaaaainss! monster mission before you hit 61 to get a Bloody Tombstone Shard (15ac 20hp, rec 60). If you wait until 61 the version you will get Rot-Covered Tombstone Shard, which has a recommended level of 70. This means you’ll need to redo the mission when you get close to 70 to get the upgraded aug, but that’s ok. It’s a great aug. DoN ac augs (Ancient Dragon Scale, Petrified Dragon Scale) are decent, but they are req 58 rec 65, so you need to be careful that they don't hurt more than help your gear if you buy them at 58, as the entire piece will change to be rec 65 if it is not already once you aug it with these. Charm augs: The two best (unless you feel like grinding LDoNs until your eyes bleed) are: Slipgear's Gem (10ac 50hme) - Corathus Creep - Explore the Depths quest reward (explore DoDH zones) Wanderlust Guild Lodestone (12ac 75hme) - Crescent Reach - Wanderlust Guild quest line (TSS zone explore missions) Augmentations at level 65: Sunderock Springs: Petrified Bladefin Eye (18ac 50hp, req 65) - zonewide random Yxtta: Blessed Shard (30ac, slot 8, all but charm) – Primals Yxtta: Scarred Token of Resistance (20ac, slot 8, all but charm) - Master Destroyer Kod'Taz: Opaque Sapphire of Bulwark (20ac, slot 8, all but charm) - Hexxt Bonegrinder/Markmaker/Spiritpillager, Pixxt Battlestrategist Kod'Taz: Ashen Claystone of Aegis (20ac, slot 8, all but charm) - Enslaved Vrex Zealot, Hynid Howler, Subjugated Brawler Muramite Proving Grounds: Ground Murkglider Eyes (20ac, slot 7/8, shield usable) – Blind Hunter Rekamu The Hive (Lost Gnomes mission – normal): Hivegrime Stone of Avoidance (20ac 15h/m/e, slot 7/8, shield usable) – Cursor reward Halls of Honor: Crest of Valor (10ac 30hp, slot 7/8) – zonewide random Walls of Slaughter: Stone of Resilience (15ac, slot 7, rec 66) – Girplan Taskmaster Dragonscale Hills: Polished Caracite (25ac 40hp, slot 7/8, req 65 rec 75) Loping Plains: Bolstered Gem of Defense (20ac, slot 7/8, req 65 rec 75) Gyrospire Beza (instances): Anti-Impact Helical Spring II (15ac 80h/m/e 1shd 5avo, slot 7/8, req 65 rec 75) Gyrospire Zeka (instances): The Universal Cog (20ac 50h/m/e, slot 7/8, shield usable, req 65 rec 75) Mechamatic Guardian (instances): Fragment of Heavy Steamwork Plating (30ac 65hp, slot 7/8, req 65 rec 75) Fabled Augs Mons Letalis: Fabled Rockhopper Spirit Fetish (10ac 55hp, slot 7/8, req 58 rec 65) – The Fabled Ancient Rockhopper Mons Letalis: Fabled Fire Idol (25ac 35h/m/e, slot 7, req 48 rec 53) – The Fabled Fiery Thought Leech Great Divide: Fabled Wurm Meat (10ac 20h/m/e, slot 7, req 53 rec 60)– The Fabled Shardwurm Broodmother Combat Abilities There’s no beating this guide on Grayhelm’s guild site, so I won’t try. Go to Warrior Discs and read up. Alternate Abilities Some people will advocate rushing to 80 then doing AAs. I’m biased towards making my tank the best he can be at each level. Even if you are trying to hurry up and get your warrior to the end game, I still can’t support that. A level 80 warrior with no AAs is not much more than crappy DPS. With the current hotzones and other xp bonuses, there’s no reason you can’t pause and at least crank out the first few levels of your defensives (I’d recommend CA8, CS8, PE and ND3 at a bare minimum) and AE Taunt at or before level 65. After that, you’re on your own. These are my per-level recommendations if you’re looking to build a solid tank. Lvls 51-54 Run3 (3) Optional: Regen3 (3) / Meta3 (3) Lvls 55-58 CS3 (12) CA3 (12) ND3 (12) WA5 (25) – Increases proc rate and thus agro generation significantly. *Get Myrmidon's Aura from the PoR quest. Lvl 59: AE Taunt (5) – Get it, love it. Lvl 60: * Upgrade your weapon and item augmentations. Lvl 61: PE (3) CS4 (3) CA4 (3) Ambidexterity (9) Ferocity1 (3) Optional: Run4/5 (5/5) * Get Whirlwind Blade from a DoN vendor for 120 crystals. Lvl 62: CS5 (3) CA5 (3) Lvl 63: CS6 (3) CA6 (3) Ferocity2 (3) Hastened Instigation (2) – Faster refresh on AE Taunt Lvl 64: CS7 (3) CA7 (3) Tribute One of the things that always surprises me, whether I'm playing my necromancer, shaman or warrior, is the limited number of people that make use of tribute in order to maximize their character's potential. Background on tribute: Tribute is a mechanism that allows you to receive innate buffs / benefits in exchange for points. With a few exceptions, these innate benefits typically act like worn mods for stacking purposes. There are two kinds of tribute: personal tribute and guild tribute. I'll skip guild trib as that is managed and controlled by your guild officers. Personal tribute is set up at the Tribute Master (use the 'Find' function) in your home city. In order to use tribute, you must have completed the set up with your Tribute Master, have enough favor points left to pay for the cost, then activate it on the Tribute menu (Alt + U). You can have up to 5 different lines of tribute. Each tribute line has three properties: the benefit, the tier and the cost. The benefit can be anything from stat bonuses, focus effects, etc. The tier determines the strength of the benefit. The Cost is the amount of favor points per 10 minutes that it costs to maintain the benefit. Note: there are often multiple tiers of each tribute benefit, with higher tiers having a greater effect but also a greater cost per 10 minutes. Also, you cannot use the highest tier of all tribute lines at level 1. Many tiers have minimum level requirements. Favor points can be obtained by giving certain dropped items or platinum to Tribute Masters. Platinum exchanges for favor points at a 1/1 ratio. Certain crafted items or those that drop from old world zones have very high tribute values. Many current items have none. Check Lucy for the specific tribute values per item. These favor points are used to 'pay' for your tribute while it is active. On the Tribute window, there is a clock that ticks down from 10:00 tom 0:00. Every time it rolls over, the active cost is deducted from your remaining current favor. Note: leaving tribute running while in trader mode or /afk in the Guild Lobby overnight is not recommended, but will happen to you at least once (if you're me, quite a lot). Once tribute is configured at the Tribute Master, it cannot be changed without another visit to the Tribute Master. While you are out adventuring, it can only be turned off or on. Good tribute for warriors: Bulwark of Honor: Adds AC. Replenishing Body: HP Regen Second Chance: Like the shaman self-buff Second Life, it can proc a DA and Heal at low health. Good for saving you (it's rare that it fires) but bad for aggro. Strength of Body: Adds HP Strength of Will: Adds End Swift Arms: Haste Vengeful Aura: Adds attack There is also double attack and accuracy tribute. I'll update the names of them later. Misc Utility In my opinion, no 55+ warrior should be without the following: Myrmidon’s Aura (PoR ac aura) Form of Defense I (ac click) – You can get this clicky at level 1 by buying a Shroud of the Fallen Defender. They sell for ~500pp in the Stromm bazaar. Some other useful items Incarnadine Brestplate (clicky self invis) Cobalt Bracer (clicky shrink) Cobalt Greaves (clicky targetable invis)

Another resource:
http://www.thesteelwarrior.org/forum...ght=aggro+augs Significant number of those can't be used at 65; others, such as Anger II from LDoN would be impractical to get, to say the least. But yet others, like the wulfenite gem/shard, ought to be a bare minimum since they're vendor sold in what once were starting cities. |

I actually have an extended version of Poohjure's aug spreadsheet going that includes a ton of these lower level augs, including the zone and mob names. If I ever finish updating it, I'll post it. Wulfenites covered under "weapon augmentations" above.

It's an excellent beginning for a guide to gearing up now. Lots of stuff on this sight was generated by a lot of work at those levels--but a long time ago. I've thought for a while that given the fact that current lvl 50-55s are apt to be swinging wilfly from getting help from level 80s to soloing for gear ups, that this sort of thing was much needed.
By the way, my 55 sk has managed to get most of the AC augs appropriate to his level (say, though the ones in AC and Nadox, but not the CT one) by soloing. I'd suggest looking at some of the Silverwing quests (Silverwing being an npc in PoK who gives the quests, but some of the initial items of the quests simply drop in hot zones--they are non-visible slots; the charm in particular might be useful before you can do much of the TSS one). Edit: My SK is completely untwinked and gimp, so if he could do it.... |

Fixed, thanks Yoda.
I'll add the rest of the links sometime this weekend.

Good writeup! I don't quite agree with all of it, but most of my quibbles are personal taste.
One is innacurate though. Anger III is 600 hate, not 650. http://lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.htm...94&source=Live Excellently written though, I can't add anything (though I'm suprised no mention of run5...) |

Weekend update completed. Added the SoF back items available at level 65, many missing links, additional aug info, updated the Anger III hate value, and added run5 to the AA listing.
The next steps are for me to update the section on non-visible items pre-65, add in more weapons, and post some sample magelos with stats for levels 50, 60 and 65 for groupable vs raid/high level assistance required, based on my recommendations. Hopefully that will allow people to compare setups more easily. Quote:
Thanks again to everyone for their feedback.

I think Yoda is planning on a sticky / library after I am finished with all the edits. I think I'll have it in pretty good shape within the next week or so.

You probably have a charm area in that guide and I keep reading right by it. But if not:
http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=52354 See post 19 here for some details on the beginnings of this quest: http://www.thesteelwarrior.org/forum...ker%27s&page=2 http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=44456 The following aug is not too difficult to get early on and fits in the secondary (shield) slot, among other places: http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=52926 The quest for this aug seemed to me to take forever, but it's in the game and fits various places: http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=52567 Not sure if people fiddle with this any more, but here are two specialty weapons for use with the /furious disc: http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=3579 http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=47764 |
