Equipment/progression advice needed for 67 Warrior

Hello,

I need gear/progression advice for my 67 warrior on Stromm.

The main:
75 druid with 800 AAs (all defensives done) and about 12k HP/Mana selfbuffed. At the moment she can tank much better then my warrior, who only has 18 AA atm.

His equipment:
- Magelo: http://eq.magelo.com/profile/1372028
- The warrior has some bazaar gear and most of the hotzone augments plus the AC20 HP60 from BS. - His HP are ok I guess but his AC is terrible.
- ATM the warrior has Blade of the half moon and Granite Scepter of Cruelty.
- Has the willsapper for slow (30%)
- Has Orb of Duskmold which stacks nicely with druid buffs

Possible help:
75 necro/75 Pally/66 Ench/63 Mage, but most of the time just duo with the druid.

I am looking for possible upgrades for the warrior. Atm his stats are not maxed as most of the time he is sitting around while the druid kills things. Until recently he did not have enough HP and AC to tank things worth killing.

Ok, here are my questions:

1. Aggro
When and how will the warrior be able to hold aggro? The druid mostly kites non summoning stuff. If the mob summons she snares, roots and debuffs while the warrior whacks away at the mob. He almost never can hold aggro when the druid is in full DPS mode.

2. Augments.
Would MPG and then at 69 RSS be feasable? The druid can kill some stuff in MPG, but I dont know about the RSS stuff. Is it worth it to get flagged for KT and Yxxta for augments there? The druid is flagged, the warrior is not.

3. Weapons
Are there any weapons better then Blade of the half moon and Granite Scepter of Cruelty one groupable or buyable in the bazaar?

4. AA
He only has 18AA, next will be area taunt. I would like to get him to 400 - 500 AA soon. At what level whould it be best to grind them? 67, 70, 75?

5. Quests
Any quests worth doing? I did the Orb of Duskmold quest with him and it was a blast.
I am still working on Wanderlust and Serpent seeker charm and hope to get them maxxed soon.
When these are done I will start on the Hand augment in BS.

6. Progression
Obviously he is not keyed for anything but the loo. The druid is keyed up to DP. I havent started factioning with Katta yet. Which progression/keys shoudl I work on? Remember, I am not trying to get the warrior into a raiding guild, just trying to improve him as much as I can.

Sorry for the many questions, but I am a newb when it comes to warriors.

Thanks for any comments/tip in advance.

1. Aggro
Once you level the BotE, you will have much more aggro. Also, consider getting a DoN axe to replace the GSoC.

2. Augments
MPG for the MGE should be good XP and relatively easy now. RSS is quite a bit more difficult, but that 75 pally would trivialize it. I wouldn't worry about KT/Yxxta for augs unless you are going to farm primals.

3. Weapons
Epic 1.5 is groupable. However, that warrior won't be tanking the fights for a while yet. =) Similarly, there is a weapon in AG that is better aggro and DPS, but I would just get a DoN axe for now.

4. AA
Grind AA any time you can get them fast. =)

5. Quests
The quest from the Krithgor Bone Earstud is a good one to work on while working through TSS. The Shield of the Otherworld is another good one to work on. The DoN mask is great and you can use many of the rewards along the way. The quest for Mock in the Devastation was ok, and I really enjoyed the first time I did ToB flagging. The coldain ring is a nice clickie and I found it enjoyable, but that was a long time ago. The ring war is groupable now. The camp in Sudnerrock has a series of tasks that will get you an OK AC aug. I did all of these, the Anaglass series, and the Vahna series, among others when TSS started. I'd recommend looking through them, they were kinda fun. If you find yourself in PoP zones, work on the gate neck. If you ever get the elemental parts, it is a real nice click to have. =)

6. Progression
DoN progression gains you stats and HPs. DSK flagging is definitely worth it for the augs. Get your CoA sigs; If you get a chance to get a 2.0 orb, that is the best weapon you will see for a long while. =) Down the road, TBS flagging will get you into Sylissar, which has some worthwhile loot.

Pick up the Shroud of the Fallen Defender if you haven't yet. Also, get an Ornate BP. The effect stacks with druid buffs when you don't have a shaman. I box a shaman and I still use that click when MR is key.

Fix your skills in the magelo, his AC isn't THAT horrible. =p

Magelo

Haha,

thanks for the nice tips, Kudedor, they give me food for thoughts and looking things up, especially at work :-)

I noticed the magelo AC hing, actually he has around 1500 AC in game.

Hehe, I forgot to put in the stats - it was sure late last night.

Additionally I found a very nice excel sheet named "One group gear" with stuff for all slates, complete with tank rating - very nice.

Thanks again.

"Easiest" path if you can't just buy a bunch of GM armor:

Get to 70 so you can get the axe and EB augsX 2 from DoN. Axe + BotE + EB augs and your aggro discs should keep aggro off the druid. Certainly with some WA you can.

You and the druid can probably duo Arcstone mobs for Blessed Champion armor, if you're careful. Not the greatest stuff, but it will put you in a much better position to tank RSS & various TSS/TBS zones for further upgrades.

Attend to your aggro discs if you haven't already.

QFMFT, if you have the plat, you can deck out a set of GM armor with a decent set of melee foci(Ferocity/Dodge/Cleave/Haste) and still have a full set of type 7 slots to fill.

ie:

Radiant Kyanite of Pure Sundering

Radiant Kyanite of Pure Ferocity

Radiant Kyanite of Pure Dexterity

Update

Hello all,

I took your advice and got some nice upgrades. The warrior is 72.9 now, has got the MPG AC aug, TSS legs and arms, 1 powersource I still have to spend, some HP augs I got around the world, the DON axe, the AC aug from Sunderrock, around 60 AAs. I intend to level him to 75 before the next espansion, hopefully even faster and get him around 150 AA before the grind to 80 starts.

Ah, and I also got him the nice haste shoulder from Valdeholm, wearable at 73.

His druid buffed stats are 10k Hp now, 2k AC, and if I want to I can hold aggro well if I dont go full debuff/DPS on the druid at the start. He still needs a lot of healing, but thats because I decided to go for 75 first before I restart AAs.

The next step will be RSS for the 4 x 24AC augs, then off to TSS to get him the rest of the TSS class armor. I started DON progression for the stat upgrades and the discs.

Ah, I also bought him the fabled BP with fero 3 and the aug with sundering 3. It sure helps a lot.

The druid still tanks better, but she has all defensive AAs and nicer equipment. Its a fun project and I really like the tanking stuff, its a totally different approach for me, hehe.

Thanks for the tips.

Dont think it was mentioned above, but certainly look at getting the Arcstone Cloak, fully levelled its probably the best, and easiest to obtain group cloak, AC35 250hp with some avoidance shielding and other stuff.

I know they are a nightmare, but look to do the Dain aug one of the best augs you can get, and it will last a while. Other aug to try and get, although you will probably need more ac, or 2 healers, will be the 30ac/30hp aug from Dodh mission(hard) last of the legion, I think.

The hand aug from TBS/BC would be great too, but that is a long quest, been working on mine for 4 weeks off and on and still need 5 quests to complete it, doesnt help been working on it with my partner, and 2 alts. Getting 4 lots of drops for each quest takes ages.

With some more ac, and hp could look on getting your DSK access flag, and head for the Shadowy Student camp for 25ac/25hp augs. You will need cc for this camp unless you want 3 mobs + in camp, all hitting at 1400+.

Hope this helps.

Still have the named goblins to do , along with the most of the mermaid stuff, and the sharks from deadbone - fighting underwater is a nightmare.

But still hoping to finish the aug this weekend.
