Dao changed?

Did Daosheen tonight and he now charms/mezzes and lands curses on the MT. This event went from a kinda fun farm to a major pain in the ass.

Er.. hasn't he always charm/mezzed? Not sure which curse you mean on the MT though.

Never had mezz land while I was tanking him but got charmed a couple times.. never had any of the single target effects either.

I geuss we'd been lucky, none of have ever been charmed or mezzed before while on HoTT. And, yaeh, by cursed I mean the single target DoT and stuff you cure with the portals, never saw that before either.

He's always done aes on the MT as far as I can recall. I do not remember him ever charming/stunning (stone) the MT though.

I've only done him twice, but neither time did he ever charm/stun the MT. I don't *think* he got the AE's, but.. could have been luck more than anything.

in all the times we did Dao we resisted(meaning MT) charm all but 1 or 2 times, mez hit everyone luckily he is pissed at MT and hits him to break it :P

In regards to the individual curses, frankly except for slow and big dot I dont really care when they hit

From the times we did Dao it seemed that his effects never landed on the MT (which is nice since it's kinda hard to go click on a crystal with big ugly summoning you back).

I have tanked him many times with dots, the dots are random. Plugue when MTing can be a pain just need a good stead wheel and hope they can adjust, or switch out tanks. the int/wis debuff is a joke. The slow/snare is a major pita since its hard to keep agro, I suggest switching out tanks if that hits.

The alliance AE, I am not sure if being top on hate list makes you immune or just got lucky on resists, I dont think I was ever hit(nor any other MT I put in on Dao), with alliance. The mez hits everytime if I recall but Dao being a bad groupmate to the adds breaks mez every time if I recall correctly(cannot be 100% sure but could swear I have seen a momentary hitch in my attack).

All I know is I wish we would kill him more as I now want that range item to free up my haste slot on helm....

That dot raises his dps on the tank by 400-600 depending on your dot shielding, and it all comes in one chunk every 6 seconds. Depending on your mitigation, you're looking at upwards of a 50% increase in dmg output on the tank. It's a major PITA and nothing to downplay. That said, our tanks have successfully run up for a click cure in the past. Thankfully it seems slightly rarer that the MT gets the aes. We have yet to see the MT get stoned or charmed. It seems like the event is hardcoded so that the MT doesn't get those effects ... might wanna /feedback if it's happened to you.

I've tanked Daosheen 4 times in the last 3 weeks and have recieved a total of ZERO Mez or Charm while tanking. In addition to that, I have also recieved ZERO Dots/Snare/Silence/Stat Debuff while tanking unless I was hit by an add, cause remember, the adds procs the crystal effects. The only thing that I've ever gotten as MT is the DT.

However, would like to point out one thing to everyone doing this event.

In the last 10 Percent of the event, if someone who is charmed gets the Killshot with a Dot, Daosheen's corpse WILL poof and you WILL LOSE THE EVENT.

It happened to us twice this last week and once to the public raiding force on our server. It is VITAL to call off dots at about 10%...
