Def AA
Am currently working my def AA. Was wondering whether or not it is beneficial to work in WA as I progress or is it better to stick strickly to the def AA for now?

If you cant hold aggro buy some WA before defensives.
Dmg mitigatino means squat if the ranger's the one getting hit.

I hold aggro okay in the zones I am currently in now. Seems more difficult with some higher lvl mobs I have tanked in DS and WoS. I was discussing AA purchases in game and couple toons were saying go def AA only and help the healers. I countered though that with anger augs procing more often I will maintain aggro even better.
One more win til I can purchase some ang 2 augs. trol |

Go defensive for now.
If you have trouble holding aggro when you get the anger augs then maybe get level 1 or 2 of WA. Dont worry about anything else untill you have a good lot of the defensives done. |

do you use your def discs often ?
* if yes then go for WA first (at least WA2), and after start to mix def aa with finishing WA. * if no then go for def AA and use spirit of rage for when you have trouble with aggro. You can get WA5 latter (between your 50-100 def AA). |

Just starting to use my def disc as the need arises - usually from a bad or multiple pull. Think I used spirit of rage once with a lesser WoS named. ATM, not something I use all the time.

/disc def + WA5 will do you better than /disc SoR + defAA on bad pull/harder boss. then you need few levels of WA before def AA.

1 anger3 augment = 1200 hate/min with no WA
2 anger2 augments = 1200 hate/min with no WA Save for a single anger3, if EF ldon is your choice for aggro augments. Unlock a yak after that or something. Buying anger2 now will piss you off later because you have to regrind out more ldons to upgrade. Trust me on this one ... i made this mistake back in the day. Ps- get rid of the cudgel primary please ... baby jesus cries ever time a warrior uses a non-aggro weapon main-hand. A SotBS would do you much better.

![]() I should have checked his magelo too because you (trol) have a dps setup not an aggro setup. 1. Dex Cudgel is one of the BADEST aggro tool available never use it for tanking. (btw, engenuity aa does nothing for aggro, you should have buy it after 300AA for def/HP/aggro) 2. put the CHoS main NOW!!! 3. buy a SotB or a MoM or a BB'sC or a SotMV or a RS-HS for offhand. 4. get few def AA while gringing ykesha or A3 augs 5. aug your both weapons after grinding. 6. come back here to ask for next step. |

No worries. I only use use the cudgel when I'm soloing or am not the MT in a grp. I use the CHoS and SotBS when tanking. Was looking at getting a MoM lastnight. Guess I will now.

Bought the ingenuity before I really starting reading the board. Wish I had not now. Oh well. Does make me laugh though when guildies keep asking me how a war is getting critical blasts.

Eh, Ingenuity is cheap and fun
I wouldn't worry about it. The answer to getting Defensive stuff vs. Weapon Affinity is get both asap If you feel like your aggro is decent, then defensive will probably be better to do first, if you find yourself having aggro problems, pick up a level or two of WA. Either way you need them all, so the order you get them in isn't crucial.

Eh, I got cheap on anger augs after buying one anger III. My next was an anger II. I didn't even put them in the right weapons really because I got the anger III before my current primary weapon. So I use the aug'ed out club of the mad researcher (with augs it's 17/20 with 600 hate proc), but it's in my offhand as my primary is that 14/18 179 dd/stun proc weapon from BoT with a 400 hate proc. With WA5, the double procing weapon seems better in my primary despite having a bit worse ratio and a lower hate aug.
Anyway, I've thought about upgrading the aug but I'd have to grind more ldons and honestly I'm not having trouble holding aggro, either in groups or raids, so it's not worth my time. sidenote: there are so many AAs now for up and coming players. Even given that sturdiness cost was greatly reduced, just to get your mitigation, avoidance, and hit points takes the following: CS3, CA3, and ND3 = 36 PE = 5 LR5 and ID5 = 30 PD = 9 Sturd5 = 25 OoW avoidance and mitigation = 50 (i've got them but forget the names )Total = 155 AAs. I have all of them and a bunch of other crap. But with so many AA now, I kind of feel for the up and coming warrior who's told, "get all your defensive AA first". It's a good idea, but you're going to have to play a heck of a lot to ever get to other AA. Your up and coming warrior isn't getting an AA every 20-30 minutes. Hell, I'm not getting anyways near that either and I'm at 355 AA.

I would also strongly recommend getting AETaunt soon. Will save groups sometimes if you get and unexpected add or a bad pull.
