Gut check please

I finally dinged 69 the other day and also had the luck of dumping some dkp on Velik..'s Femur. I also had the good luck of winning a greater rune so now I have Bazu Bellow. My agro wasn't terrible before, but I expect the new weapon and provoke spell will really sure it up.

That leaves me the choice of ditching one of my 1handers ... GBOS or OSOW. Both are A3 auged. I kept the OSOW for offhand and banked the bot weapon. Was that the right choice? I realize OSOW probably has a little less hate than gbos but better stats, dps and proc rate.

While I am at it, I will ask part 2. I only get to exp about 10-12 hours a week. With that in mind its gunna be a long haul to 70. Should I go for some short term fixes first? AA wise, other than the basics, I only have sturd-2, WA-2, ID-1 - no LR at all... I am the second tank in our guild... we are recently in to raiding elemental planes and smaller OOW targets. I have encluded my Magelo below for any suggestions on gear etc. I figure I will go for that weapon that drops from MPG fear trial to upgrade the osow? sound like a good plan?

Pretend for a moment that stun = 450 hate and debuff =350 hate (this is what i've always assumed).

OSoW has a 25% proc rate mod on it, meaning that offhand with WA5 you're looking at 1.875 procs per minute vs 1.5 procs per minute from an offhand GBoS.

450 x 1.5 = 675 hate/min from procs
350 x 1.875 = 656.25 hate/min from procs

Now examine the ratios (offhand)

15/19 = .7894
14/18 = .7777

OSoW has slightly better dps aggro and slightly lower proc aggro. I have both and IMO the GBoS is a far better primary weapon but considering offhanded, they are more or less equal. OSoW has better stats, so really the choice is yours. Which one looks the best to you etc ... those kind of questions are more important in this case.


PS- and grind out to 70 before any aa. It may take a while longer but you will get groups faster. The gains you get from 1 level should outweigh 1 or 2 levels of LR. LV 69-70 is estimated at about 7-9aa worth of xp grind. Once 70 i'd just 90/10 it until you're at least half a gold into your level.

i think also the OSoW is the better of the two choices for an offhander due to it's stats..
it's pretty close; I know also as a primary hand weapon the GBoS is quite the deal; but offhanded it loses a bit of "punch" to other weapons that have better stats and a close ratio.

worse case if you can afford to not un-aug the GSoS; give them both a good run. If the OSOW fails ya offhanded than go with the GBoS.

69 will take you the same amount of time it would to get 30 AA or so. I am not sure if that is what you meant but I just wanted to clarify. I was with a guildie last night in Fire who is 69 doing regular exp, he got 13% of the level while I got 4 AA.

Was he at 100% reg xp? From my experience with a couple toons xp'ing in fire it's about 11-13 AA's or so. About 7-12 hours of xp depending on the rate.

I did 69 in a 6 hour Fire session in 2nd field.
