So, who here has tanked this guy successfully, since they fixed his bird pal, and he actually does *Highwind Attack*. I know the attack is percent based on hps (5%), and is either 5 or 6 hits, but has anyone survived this, without outside help (IE: Pally in group to invlun, or Psi / druid for same? )

I watched a Paladin tank this, two times, using whatever skill they have that gives them a 4 sec invuln (uses virtue pts) , easy as hell mob then. Then I attempted to tank it, and with Syd's melee attack/ dynamite and highwind hitting me, was toasted several times. Tried adding a PSI to use thier runes, well, they dont come back up fast enough. Tried using combination of Psi rune/ racial/ and our gimp ass block (BoS), still toasted.

Im not FULL apw geared, but I do have 5 pieces, 77 shoulders , upgraded ring by 2, silly axe, etc.. so im better geared then what this quest was intended for (group flying mount quest, not raid), but by no means am I kitted out completely yet. Side note, me and paladin are comparably geared, but I had them out hp'ed by about 1k buffed. So just feel it wasnt a gear issue, but spells/ skill ability issue.

Suggestions, or just chalk it up to another mob paladins make look easy ?

I've tanked this guy twice successfully since GU5. What seemed to be the trick was the blood mage, only took about 1k per hit either way he was an easier mob.

We tried with a cleric/ shaman... cleric/ disc... disc/ shaman .. then all three :P. Didnt have a BLMG on at the time, but I can see how it would be compared to a Silly Arse fight (far as BLMG *helps*). Will give that go then. Sorry, just chafed me a bit that the pally was able to pull it off with *insert two random healers* by using thier spammable 4 sec invuln, and we have to rely on said pally for targetable invuln OR blmg for pact.

I did this mob yesterday again and died about 6 times until he fell finally. It's sucks to get one-shot-killed by a group mob in full raid gear.

We didn't cheat by using a Bm and/or an invul class at the start. No necro meat either.
When I got a paladin babysitter to cheat with invul we were successful finally.

Welcome in the wonderful world of VG tanking. I'm fed up with all this BS, tanking is no fun in this game anymore.
Personal skill has little meaning, gear has little meaning. The only important thing is to have some must-have classes available to babysit you if they really wanna go with you and not do it by themselves.
I start to believe that a BP protected monk or ranger can do a better tanking job than a warrior without a BM.
