Can someone explain exactly what the damage bonus is on a weapon please.

For example, a Wavecrasher is listed as damage 9, damage bonus 13 (assuming I'm level 65).

Does that mean my effective damage is 22?

No it doesn't. What you're thinking of his how Bane DMG works.

Dmg Bonus works like this:

Say you have a Wavecrasher, with a Base Dmg of 9.
You swing, and you hit for 37 damage.
In actuality, you only hit for 28 damage, but the Dmg Bonus is added to your damage. (28+9=37)

The damage bonus is guaranteed damage added to every hit. The weapon damage on your weapon is plugged into some formula and multiplied by whatever comes up on the RNG. The damage bonus is just added to that result.

So someone with a damage bonus of zero using a 40 damage weapon would not do the same amount of damage as someone with a damage bonus of 13 and a weapon damage of 27.

Your damage bonus is calculated as:

(level - 25) / 3

this is for a one handed weapon, for two handers i have no clue. at least thats the formula i have heard, and it seems to bear out as far as i've leveled.
