I'm kinda new here, I've been reading a while, but this is my first post. So hello all! :)

Anyway, I've read up a lot about taunt here, but I haven't seen mention something that someone once told me, so I thought I'd ask about it.

I was once told by someone who's opinion I greatly respect, (and who plays a taunting class, though not a warrior), that the taunt skill only works if the mob is facing you.

That doesn't ring true to me, and I've never heard it from another source, and I'm sure it would be common knowledge by now if true. But, I would still like to know if anyone else has heard that theory. :)

Not from my experience.

You don't have to face the mob, you dont have to be in the mobs face, hell you don't even have to be in the same room as the mob for taunt to work. :D

You just have to be within "earshot" of the mob and pass a skill check.

No its false.

You can use taunt to aggro thru walls ) Walk up behind an indifferent con mob (moss snakes?) and press taunt.

Moss snakes will start to attack.

Naw, there's been plenty of times I've seen a mob turn to go munch on someone and I hit taunt at that moment, bringing it back to me.
