ATK vengeance additions seem small...

I tried a search, far too many ATK references...apologies in advance.

OK, my ATK is, say, 1300. I get a Vengeace I item, which I believe raises it to 1305.

Now, I understand more is better.

Can someone explain to me how adding 5 to 1300, which is like .3%, makes a difference? Do we have any idea of the mechanism under the hood?

Well, basically you're right. It doesn't make much difference at all. However, just like anything else, the more you have, the more you notice it. Couple of vengeance items, maybe some AoB, some ATK from avatar, and suddenly you're starting to notice an increase in DPS.

If you're asking if Vengeance I is really worth what other people charge for it, no, it's not.

I believe warriors get a 1.3 modifier on any ATK raising spell / item.

For instance:

I have 1200 atk and my str is at 280 ( no pp). My Primal blade procs and now I have 1333 atk.

I've noticed the same with my vengence II bracer. Magelo says it gives 10 atk but when I equip it I get closer to 13atk.

Can other people verify this or am I just going crazy?

Slightly OT...I have been told that 10 raw attack roughly is about a 1 % DPS increase. Is this accurate, I have never payed close enough attention to tell for sure.

The ornate bracer has strength on it so that strength might be adding the extra 3 attack so you see 13 instead of 10 like you expect.

No, he's reading the 13 / 14 atk from raw 10 x 1.3333 as the game interperates it for melee's.

warriors (if not all melee) have a set bonus to atk items. About a month ago, i saved up enough points to buy the vengence 4 augment from mistmoore camp. this is just raw 20 atk, but when i put it on my bracer, i gained like 25atk or so. might have been more but i definately got more than 20 for it.

as for noticable increase, 1 vengence isn't gonna make a huge bit of difference, but once you get more, your dps will increase but you won't notice it visually without parsing. You may notice hitting for max more often though.

bottom line, atk definately helps as it adds up.
