I just started a warrior on FV, I have a 65 rogue and I can get buy with having just abit of my weapon skills, but here is my question.

I'm level 7 and I'm having trouble getting 1 handed blunt/slash 2handed piercing/slashing/blunt...

What can I do!?! Can I get buy with just 2 handed skills... The way I want to play him is just a giant Vah brute. But I know that duel wielding 1 handed EB procs will help too.

Whats your advice? I need help bad heeh I dont want to end up being bad at everything hehe.

At low levels the XP comes so quick its hard to keep all your skills maxed. Just wait till you hit the late teens and the XP slows down and you should be able to find time to keep all skills up. Personally I didnt work on piercing till lvl 40 and it took about 3 days to max, 1hb I started in my mid 50s and it took about 2 days to max, and 2hs I started at lvl 60 and it took about 2 weeks to max just swapping it in when I wasnt tanking.

So don't stress, you have heaps of time to work on your weapon skills. How they are at level 7 will have no bearing of how they are at higher levels.

Hehehe, I tried starting a Shadowknight once.

Pulled on his rip-cord for about 20 minutes, but he never turned over.

Somebody must have put him away for the winter with gas in his tank.

Hehe Well, I really want to be a Vah, My main on Lanys is a 65 Rogue so thats played out for me.. Rogue being soooo boring till pop levels.. Either then Rogue or Warr, what would be a good Vah class on FV? Then.. and if I should stick with warrior..why?

vah shirs can also be bards, shaman, and beastlords.

But if you stay with your warrior, don't try to keep them all maxed. I'm level 35 and I only have piercing and 1hs maxed, 2hs on the way. 1hb and 2hb are down in the 40's. So I wouldn't worry about it at your level.

Raise all skills. There are many warrior friends I had who I yelled at when I told them to get a Truncheon of Doom and the (then) newly released Greatstaff of Thunder and I got the "but I did not train 2hblunt speach." Warriors are heavily defined by their equipment, would suck if some uber piercer was introduced and you had no skill. Even without EQ in mind the ideal of the warrior is to be a weapons master!

All rambling aside some advice for cheap weapons:-

1hslash:- Shaded Blade (12/24)
2hslash:- Blackened Alloy Bastard Sword (24/39)/Mith 2hander (21/40 eff:haste)
2hblunt:- Mith staff (28/45)
1hblunt:- Shaded Staff (10/22)
piercing:- Jasarth Trident (11/22)

Not sure about your server, but all those are cheap as hell on mine. They should last you a while.

I would not worry about keeping weapons skills up until you are lfg and are able to pratice hitting another groups mob...

hehe, starting a sk sounds like a good idea too!

I wouldn't get a mithril staff. I got my sarnak battlehammer (30/40 2hb weap) for 150 or 200pp here on torv. It has a better ratio and the mithril staff will only be better when you start getting really high dmg bonuses.

Good idea I completely forgot about the sarnark battlehammer, I used it myself a long time ago.

I just started my warrior not too long ago, and it was slow going with the weapon skills as well. However I have found that they begin to accelerate, in my case I got a ton of skillups as I approached level 30.

Having as much haste as possible and weapons with low delay doesn't hurt of course :)

I did my best to keep them equal all along the way, but I learned a bit late into it that I was supposed to (every other Warrior I ever played in any other game was slashing only) - I couldn't max them all each level. 1 HS and Piercing were maxxed for most of it, and I caught up to everything but Bash in my 40's, while the caps are on Hold. It's a piece of cake catching up if you can find an agreeable shaman to bux your dex up as high as possible at that point.

Everything except Archery, H2H, and Bash is maxxed now at 60 (Bash is close).

It did seem to get a lot faster as levels advanced for me, as well.

for my 2hb i use stormwood (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=565) nice dmg and it starts to proc at 40 i believe, another nice 2hb is shovel (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=16301), the shovel drops from a lvl 35 mob in katta.

no seriously start a paladin or Sk bro you will be much better off. You can solo with either of those classes and you will never have trouble getting a group.

Yup,
don't even think of starting a warrior.

Paladin or Shadowknight is the way to go.

If you insist on starting a warrior, don't worry too much about maxing all your weapon skills early on. Just work on the basics, or on the appropriate skill for the best weapon you have. When you get to lvl 40 (41 maybe?) your weapon skills cap and won't go up again until 51. During that time, you can bag the weapons your skills are maxed on and start working the lagging ones. By the time you're 51 everything will be maxxed.

I am level up an SK now. Back in the original game, and RoK you leveled slowly enough that keep skills up was not a major problem. At 28th on the SK (having spent some time in PC, the most rediculous zone ever) I have 1 skill maxed, 1 that needs 5 increases, and about 30 points in 2hs. No peircing, no 2hb. I suspect that it wont be until the 40's that my skills start to 200.

So long as yuo know to work at it I would not worry about it. Just rank the weapons in your current gear in the order you like playing with them. Max them in that order. Many levels you wont have a chance to max before you ding again. PC just makes this worse.
