View Full Version : Defender of the Ancestral Spirit
Tonight starting a poair clearing we had one of these shields drop. The shield is clickable from inventory, at least by the enchanter who won it tonight. So... have any non-listed classes had the opportunity to test it, any warriors? I know some inventory clickable items will not work for unlisted classes (example: staff of temp flux), while others will (example: vox stick, amulet of necrop.).
Anyone try Defender of the Ancestral Spirit yet?

(Any Slot/Can Equip, Casting Time: 2.0)
Clickable from anywhere, as long as you can equip it. So no, won't work for us.

Kinda like the DE Masks, only those who can wear can click.

Wrong, the pre-nerfed guise of the decievers could be clicked by anyone from your inventory, even though only rogue and bard were listed as the players capable of equipping the item.

Just about any high end clickies require you at least be able to use the item for it to work. Otherwise they can't put anything interesting on them.

Notice :
Shield = Effect: Immobilize (Any Slot/Can Equip, Casting Time: 2.0)
Jboots = Effect: JourneymanBoots (Any Slot, Casting Time: Instant)
Kizraks = Effect: Miraculous Visions (Must Equip, Casting Time: 3.0)
Notice the "Can Equip vs Must Equip vs Nothing".
Dunno why but i think he might actually be right on that one.
Can equip = Classes that can equip the shield can use it from any slot it's in (inventory or equipped)
Any Slot = Any race/class can use, either from inventory or equipped.
Must Equip = You have to wear it to click it.
That's right, and that's what Grimlokk was saying. Thanks guys, not sure how I missed that determination previously between "any slot" and "any slot/can equip" but I appreciate the straightening out.

Can be used from any slot.
CANNOT be used by someone who is not a cleric, druid or shaman.
Just because it says "any slot" does not mean that deities, classes, or races that are not listed can use an item. In fact, with newer items (Ssra+) it's a safe bet it's not usable.

/sigh vova, did you even really read this?
Notice how the shield you linked says "Can Equip", which like Raaj said means that only classes who can equip can click from inventory. When it says "Any Slot", without the "Can Equip" part, anyone can use from inventory.
