I guess everyone's busy with Diablo because there are no new posts for like two days :p
It is a fun game but I have not gotten very far into it. The specs on the box had me second guessing but so far it looks great on my Alienware m11x first generation.

I've been enjoying D3 a lot, personally! Finished Normal with my Demon Hunter and starting on Nightmare/working on other classes now.
If anyone's looking for someone to play with, add me :P Battletag: Yraen#1995

Didn't have very long to play it, just got back into town over the weekend. I'm going to go back to it once I've leveled up in Tera. Pretty fun game so far at least to level 17ish. Who knows past that. It's a lot like every other mmorpg out there now with a little difference in combat. You have to watch for hints from the mob in what they are going to do. If their eyes glimmer (a red effect) then you need to block it. Otherwise they do heavy damage. It also has chained actions. You hit something and then hit 'space' soon after causes your char to do X action.
But anyway, I'll go back to D3 once I've hit the cap. Meanwhile it's pretty fun.

Hmm good info, I will watch out for the gleaming eyes! Only Level 7 here atm.

Even at 20 now, I can go toe-2-toe with most anything I have tried to take on without paying too much attention as a Lancer. Figured it would be one of the most needed character types. They do die faster if you do pay attention and try to chain those actions. And there were a few of the boss type mobs for a couple of the questions you have to pay attention and try to block/dodge their attacks.
I had no idea when I read and had heard about the gleaming eyes, but now that I've seen it a few times it's pretty noticable. I'm pretty old and slow so I'm usually a few clicks too late, but...
Anyway, I'm having fun. Sorry for the derail.

I played a bit of TERA, but I just can't seem to stay interested in it. It's a beautiful game graphically (though not really my taste for graphics) and seems very polished as far as gameplay and content... but, I just can't seem to find it all that enjoyable. I think it's just too "active" for my idea of an MMO.
Also, shortly after level 20, the ability to solo your quests begins to diminish quickly (a lot of the quests become group quests).

Yraen, I was worried about that. I see more and more people asking to group for tasks. So I figured that might be the case, but in the back of my mind was hoping they were just running dungeons or something like that.
I agree about being active. And to be honest a good portion of the time I miss when it shows to hit the spacebar. I'm too busy either clicking my mouse button to attack the only time I get it 90% of the time is when I click and active skill and I know that it will want me to do the spacebar.
I really would love to find an old TSR style game where it's more pen and paper feeling. Where it's more about your gear, decisions and the luck of a dice roll influence how you do.
For now I'm still having fun. I'm at level 21 and I'll see where it goes from there.
I still don't get travel. I take it, from the city you can teleport to the different areas but on the way back you either have to use a scroll or ride your horse back to town. At least thats for a lancer.

Hey Ruhtra, I don't have an iPad (yet) but the complete Baldur's Gate is coming out for it this summer I think. Talk about some TSR FUN!

I still toss back to Sacred (found the gold edition for like 16 bucks) and Neverwinter Knights 2 and Dungeon Keeper (1 and 2) if I get bored. Have yet to get D3 though, waiting for any bugs to be worked out before I go for it.

I loved the Dungeon Keeper series. A third would be awesome!

DK3 would be something to see. Did finally get D3 (early father's day gift from the wife). Love it so far! Really like how they incorporated old areas and mobs into the storyline.
I'm finding D3 pretty entertaining. Inferno is kick-you-in-the-teeth stupidly hard so far, but still enjoying overcoming it slowly.

I still hadn't had a chance to play D3. I'm actually still playing Tera it has the same issues as most MMO games, people complaining about class balance, long long queues for the looking for dungeon too which pulls players from any server to make up a group. Lancers which I chose has no queue time since they are slower at leveling so a lot of people do not really want to play them. Where the DPS classes can sit in queue for over an hour.
EQ once in while a long time ago you would be asked what your HP/AC was before joining a group, but even then it wasn't that big of a deal. It also seemed to be not as much of an issue the last year or so I played (which wasn't that long ago. I did play a little into VOA). Here items have levels and there are recommended item levels a player *should* have before doing a dungeon. I guess there a lot of getting kicked from the group if your gear isn't very good. Which if you sat in the queue for an hour only to be kicked because someone thought your gear wasn't up to snuff, I could see how annoying that could be.
I've tried a few different dungeons, they are nothing special. If you are following the story line you are somewhat forced to go do them. Which is about the only reason I did the ones I did, even though I did a few of them a few times.
I think I'm sitting at level 39 and so far I've grouped a few times just to speed things up but for the most part I think you could solo up to at least this point. I have enough quests now to keep myself going solo. Levels are taking much longer to level now.
Anyway, it's fun. But it won't hold my attention too long after I reach cap. If I end up reaching it.
D3 will be the next game on my list. There are a few new releases I'm putting off purchasing so I won't get pulled into a different direction. Max Payne 3 and Alan Wake for the PC and Dragons Dogma for the 360.

Wouldn't Max Payne and Alan Wake be better on the XBOX? I always play on the XBox given a choice. I prefer not installing a bunch of crap on my Alienware. BTW I just got the latest Humble Bundle, mainly for Limbo, and it crashes every time I load it. Tried in all different compatibility modes and what not, guess it just does not like W7 64 Bit. Would not have any issues if I had got it on Xbox. Let me know if Dragon's Dogma is good. Generally I avoid JRPG like the plague for the past 20 years.
