Does anyone know yet if the SoD chest piece will include a hate mod like the crystallos one again?
I'm wondering if my time would be better spent in SoD working towards a chest there, than in crystallos picking up essences to get the prismatic one.

Yes. That change happened with the patch launch of SoD. I also tweaked the spawn rates a bit so the Elders should be more common. There's a way to upgrade Crystallos Prismatic armor to SoD armor so we wanted to make it a bit more realistic to get the Prismatic armor in Crystallos.

Probably wouldn't be as much of a pain as it used to be to farm the essences now.

Anyone have any info on upgrading the crystallos armor? I have a prismatic BP in my bags that I wouldn't mind upgrading to wear again instead of Solteris BP.

Basically from what I have read is you can only upgrade the Prismatic pieces, and you need to collect the corresponding slot upgrade drop from Toskirak theme I think. The upgrade drops are slot restricted this time, instead of class, which seems like a lot better idea. Then you combine the stuff with a class piece and in containers bought in Void with Chronobines. So you also need to do the progression to get the right void access to buy the parts you need.

It looks like the upgrade for the Martial Chromasteel to the tier 4 BP does NOT have a hate mod on it:

This is from info on Rasper's. The tier 5 BP hasn't been made/or uploaded to Lucy, yet, so it's unclear if that will.

It seems pretty BS to "upgrade" a chromasteel to the SoD tier 4 bp and not get the hate mod and clickie.

A quick look at the Tier 5 links on Rasper's seems to indicate that at least ranger and wizard tier 5 bps don't get their corresponding mods or clicks either, so it's safe to assume that the warrior Tier 5 bp wouldn't have the hate mod either. I'll be sticking with my chromasteel bp for quite a while it looks like.

Seminal essence drop in FoS/Kaesora Hatchery and Library. Medial drop in Tosk theme, and I think Bloodfields. Here's the kicker though. To get the container necessary to do combine of medial essence you need to have access to Void E. It can not be done earlier. This means you must complete the progression of 4 different themes. It doesn't have to be in order in any fashion, but you must do 4. Once you have Void E access you can also zone into Korafax, Home of the Riders, aka Discord. Here Eternal essences drop which are used to make Tier 5.

In regards to progression and Mercs. If all you want is a Tier V merc, just do Tosk theme and he'll be unlocked. (Regardless of how many other themes you have done) However, if this is the only theme you have finished then you'll have Tier V and Tier I as your options.

Medial = Tier 4 (Invasion of Rathe Theme)

Just finished up the solo tasks for Rathe themed progression and according to Rasper's that only leaves the single group mission to go, been doing the themes in order, so I should be in Void E later today. Woot!

Then you'll be happy to know the group mission is not necessary for that line.

As for where they drop, that isn't really a big secret or even important. The main focus is that a person can not combine Medial or Eternal essence until they have Void E access.

If I have this right, you must have Tier 3 armor (or prismatic Crystallos) as a base before you can go on to Tier 4 and Tier 5. I already have a number of Tier 4 essence but now I have to go back and farm Tier 3 essence? That sort of sucks for folks in Crystallos group gear (non-prismatic). The Tier 3 armor has no value for them but they need to farm it up anyway. Bleh.
