Green name and title of speed bump for wanting to be a ranger in EQ?

Thanks for dropping by Brad.

Questions I think I'd like to ask would be:

1) Has Sigil had a chance to look at data regarding item durability?

Most folks decently equipped find their gear in tatters after just a couple hours. Since warriors (and Defensive fighters in general) take the brunt of damage, this has gotten to the point where some folks can't even afford their repairs.

2) When will Leap Attack's replacement be introduced?

Leap Attack was removed from the game. No replacement was provided, although I've read that one is in the works that will be usable in both offensive and defensive stances. The lack of a replacement has left Warriors in a lurch. Leap attack had a high crit percentage, which opened up our chains. Warrior offense is very dependent on chains. This has a high impact on soloability, without chains a Warrior has significant downtime.

3) Will there be any changes to Warrior Battle Cries and Commands?

Warrior group contributions largely revolve around our battle cries and commands. However these buffs seem very weak overall. For example, Charge I will provide 15% damage increase to the group for 8 seconds, with a refresh of 45 seconds. Over that 45 seconds, that only works out to be about 2.5% additional DPS. And for that 45 seconds, no other command is available. Stunning Bellow II will stun a mob for 5 hits or 5 seconds, but in a group this amounts to little more then an interrupt with seemingly little effect on the mob. And with a 60 second timer on all Battle Cries, it's not much bang for the buck.

Overall, they just don't feel like they are having an actual, perceptible impact in groups.

On a final note, I'm enjoying Vanguard and excited to see what's coming down the pipe in the future.

Wow Great to see you taking an interest in us lowly warriors!! I must say that you've put out a great game, and seems to be only getting better as each update goes live. I would second all three of the comments and questions put forth by Tuddar, and add one of my own.

4. Slightly more general question, Are you considering or planning to implement any type of class specific armor sets, either dropped or quested (IE crafted, Indicolite etc. from EQ)?

The low level quest reward armor is helpful, but as I've adventured into the teens and low twenties, I have not seen any more distinguishing gear for any specific classes, and I remember, from EQ, that kind of differentiation between the classes to be a main boost to character individuality and sense of accomplishment. Seeing that warrior in full crafted or full Indo really meant that warrior had accomplished something in the game. Plus class tailored stats would be a great bonus!

Was wondering what it takes to have an item fixed? Have petitioned and bugged for 4 weeks now on an item in the bank that has been rendered useless. It was a rare from harvesting that is now showing up as red circle with a line thru it.

GM responded with a cannot help you send in a bug report after the petition was in for over one week. Have bugged it every day that I have logged into the game and still the item has not been fixed.

Also was wondering if you have managed to get your subscription problem fixed as of yet? Had to contact SOE directly to cancel the subscription to prevent auto billing.

If our class distinction is about being the highest dps defensive fighter, which from earlier statements I believe it is, I think right now the best way to improve our class would be to add a defensive bonus to dual wielding. A natural riposte or something along those lines that equals a shield block.

I think this would allow us to keep our dps advantage, and keep us as equal tanks. Right now as it stands I dual wield in defensive form to hold aggro, but I lose some of my defense from the lack of a shield.

The warrior accepts that all tanks are equal defensively in VG, but that we are each somewhat unique in utility, spells, or dps. This imo should be our distinction: improved weapon dps via the ability to maintain equal defensive capability without needing a shield.

With the news guess you could now say bye bye Brad's new vision!

Will be interesting to see how things go now. I found it interesting that Smedley called Vanguard their most "hardcore" game now, and they plan on keeping it as such.

Personally I think EQ is more hardcore, but each game has their challenges.

We'll see how things go. Once new content comes online, we will see how "the Vision" fares.
